SACHIN SILENCES CRITICS

He has served Indian cricket for 19 years and continues to serve by making his willow to talk. Even Sachin himself wouldn’t have imagined that he would achieve this feat against the  world’s best team.

This feat was pending with master for a while. Everyone expected  him to cross Lara’s record against Srilanka in their own backyard. It seemed as if he was destined to break record’s against best teams.

This evoked thought’s in people that Sachin had lost his venom and concentration. This was also aided by the rumors of the retirement of the fab four. But still people knew Sachin would bounce back.

This makes him the first player to cross 12,000 runs in test cricket. Spanning from the first test against Pakistan until date he has scored 39 tons and 50 fifties. Hats off to the master for his endurance and durability. He has played under many Indian captains.

There are  many interesting statistics:

1) Saurav was his partner when he scored his 35th ton in Delhi breaking Sunil Gavaskar’s record. He was the one again when Sachin broke Lara’s record.

2) Krishnamachari Srikanth who  was the  captain in Sachin’s debut test match against Pakistan is now the chairman of selectors.

Will there be any player able to break Sachin’s record? Can Ricky Ponting and Rahul Dravid do that? Can Sachin break Lara’s record for highest score in a test innings? Only time can tell us.

WILL INDIA THRASH ENGLAND?

After winning the Border Gavaskar trophy emphatically India will now face England for seven one day internationals which begins on Nov 14Th. England have already arrived for the tournament few weeks back. They have won their first warm up match against Mumbai Cricket eleven.

Andrew Flintoff made a sparkling century to lead the team to victory. They have managed to take eight opposition wickets. Kevin Petersen was named the captain in the South African series played at home.  India should not be ruling out Petersen’s men as they have won 4-0 against South Africa  at home.  Both Petersen and Dhoni seem to be aggressive in approach and are similar in nature on the field. Both players don’t panic and play cool. England are also aware of the marvelous Indian performance.

Gautham Gambhir and Sehwag will open for India.  India will be missing master batsmen Sachin Tendulkar for the first three one day internationals. He has been rested. England will be aware of this and will try to grab the opportunity.

Yuvraj Singh is not the vice captain. He has been dropped as vice captain due to his poor run. Will he be able to turn it against England? Only time can tell us.  Virendar Sehwag is appointed as Dhoni’s deputy. Can Sehwag and Gambhir continue to give good starts? Ishant sharma is also going to miss out. This is also a huge blow for India. Good thing for England is they have Harmisson back. Their pace department is good. Flintoff is in top form. Interesting to see what tactics does England weave to win. The two teams clash on Nov 14Th at Rajkot. Watch live action on Neo Cricket.

BORDER GAVASKER SERIES

India have announced to the world that they are the next champions after beating Australia 2-0. This series will be remembered in history for it’s absorbing cricket. This series also saw the retirement of Sourav Ganguly and Anil Kumble. MS Dhoni showcases his respect to Sourav by  asking him to captain after nine Aussie wickets have gone. This will be regarded as a great gesture by Dhoni. Exactly on the same day eight years back Sourav became the Indian captain. He has also retired as a captain.

India have won by a thumping margin of over 200 runs in the last test in Nagpur. Is it the end of Australian regime in world cricket?  Retirement of Adam Gilchrist have caused them a lot. Shane Watson in place of Andrew Symmonds also did not fare well in the series.

Mathew Hayden played well for his 77. Australia could have easily drawn the match by playing defensively but showed how they generally play. Whatever it may be India have finally reclaimed the trophy after 2001. Kudos to team India.

JUMBO STEPS OUT

The man who has made Indians cheer by knocking down crucial wickets for 18 years has decided to quit test cricket. The third test between India and Australia played at Ferozshah Kotla is his last. This has been his hunting ground in the past. No Indian will forget his record breaking stunt of ten wickets in an innings. This feat was achieved against Pakistan. He has a tally of 619 wickets in 132 matches.  He has a test hundred  to his name too.

The injury which occurred to him on the third day made him to take his decision faster. Everyone were shocked to hear his retirement. The Australian captain also applauded Kumble for his determination. He has started his career in 1990 under captain Azharuddin.  Until then he has faced several criticisms. He has worked hard on his bowling all these years to sustain his mastery in all situations.

He has admitted that no criticism has been involved in his decision to retire. He was agitated by press people for having a bad tour against Srilanka. Everyone talked about his downfall when young lad Amit Mishra took five wicket haul. A player who has served Indian cricket for 18 tough years was compared with a youngster. Has this triggered Kumble to take his decision?
